Module Overview
In this module, students will construct arguments based on evidence and develop and use models to describe animal and plant structures and their functions. Students will engage in scientific experiences to answer questions such as: How do plant structures help them survive and reproduce? How do animal structures help them survive? How do animals sense and respond to information? How do animals see?

Students should be able to:
- understand that plants have a variety of structures such as roots, stems, leaves, flowers, and cones to help them meet their needs.
- understand that animals have a variety of structures to help them get the resources they need to survive in their environment.
- understand that animals use their senses, nervous system, and brain to process and react to stimuli.
- understand how the eye works to allow animals to see the world around them. Students should also understand the basic principles that allow animals to see.
